Pomp & Circumstance is the new hot spot in Old Town. It has an Old Town feel, with natural rustic wood decor and chic culture of the 1950’s and 60’s theme. The space is very warm and inviting, and patrons can dine inside, on the outdoor patio located on the first floor off the main dining room, or you can experience the upper level as well, where if seated near the front, you can view the heat of Old Town from the windows that are adorned with french doors. It reminds me of a speak-easy type restaurant/ cocktail bar.
We attended a VIP preview where we were able to sample delicious bites such as, bacon wrapped dates, juicy sliders and sliced NY Strip done just perfect. In addition to bites, we sampled drinks, and drinks, and drinks. We just about tried every drink they offered for the evening (LUSHES) but hey, that’s why we were invited! My favorite was the Pink Lady, very refreshing and just yummy, the Watermelon cooler with Tequilla was tasty, and The Shake Down was served in a gorgeous copper pineapple which was enough for two to share. Then there was the North Park…NOW this was a “stiff drink”. P&C is the place to go when you want genuine and modern food and drink without all the frills. I must say that they lived up to their motto, “Where Food is Good and Drinks are Stiff”.
So, if you are looking for a nice romantic, upscale new spot with an amazing atmosphere, Pomp & Circumstance is your place, especially in the main dining room. It is also the place to go for a small groups, I would recommend being seated upstairs because it is more spacious, open and laid back. They are definitely on my list to visit again.
