Chicago Defender launches their new baby!  CD Magazine!

Last night I attended the launch party for The Chicago Defender’s new magazine CD Magazine.  This awesome event was held at the swanky and stylish Fleetwood Chicago on Michigan Ave.  Invited guests noshed on lite bites, tasty cocktails and jammed to some great music.  Kai EL’Zabar Editor and Chief and Cheryl Mainor President/Publisher got on the mic and shared with the group their vision for CD magazine.  It will be a look at the Arts, Culture, Fashion, Entertainment and Lifestyle they see this as their baby and would like to share it with all of Chicago (and beyond).

It was great to meet a few new people and see everyone’s Uncle,  George Daniels and the ever stylish Chris Curse of Chris Curse & Co., as well as the many other movers and shakers that were in attendance.

 

The first publication highlights some of my fav’s; Mary Datcher, staff writer for the Chicago Defender (note, Mary wears many other hats other than staff writer) interviews R & B royalty Lalah Hathaway and Cappie Pondexter of the Chicago Sky Women’s Basketball team.  Candace Hunter another writer for the Chicago Defender, highlights Bronzeville Culture, and last but not least, the beautiful Lauryn Mc Royal models fall fashion.  Hey fella’s, there is also a section that is dedicated to just the men, and trust me you will want to see this!

 

CD will feature and showcase Black Americans in everything that we do and support.  We are the third largest racial and ethnic group in the US, we not only support black enterprises, but we shop, eat and support ALL enterprises.  CD is looking to develop a media source for us that will help us and keep us all in the know, past our own boundaries!  Support CD and subscribe to their publication!  I did!!!
