My sincere apologies for the delay in sharing my blog post from last Thursday’s FABULOUS Diner En Blanc Chicago! Yet again, this event did not disappoint!
As I was driving to park at the meeting place, the butterflies are always still the same, as you are constantly wondering WHERE oh WHERE will it be this year?! And just when you think it cannot be topped DEB yet again surprises you! As you all know, Chicago has some of the most amazing views of the skyline so when we stepped from under the Fullerton viaduct, looked over and saw our skyline, I knew that it was going to be magical for pictures and just another amazing location!!!
About 3,6000 of Chicago’s elite dressed in all white made their way to Theater on the Lake in the Lincoln Park community. As guests strolled in, alongside a few of them was a Tubad Second Line Band from New Orleans on foot playing as they took their spaces and began to set up. The sun was shining and it was a bit windy but this is the Windy City right??!!
This event is one of the most chic, communal dinners you will ever attend! What better location than Theater on the Lake to gather with new and old friends, eat great food, drink wine and dance the night away?! This year, the food was by Chef Cleetus Friedman.
As the sun set, sparklers were lit to signal the end of dinner and the dance floor was open. DJ Megan Taylor of Fig Media got us all dancing and warmed up really quickly! If you are like me, I am already trying to figure out what I am wearing next year!
