Last Friday, February 10th I had the pleasure of attending the First Look for Charity it stands as one of Chicago’s greatest one-day fundraisers, regularly generating more than $2.5 million for 18 area nonprofits. It was held at McCormick Place the evening before the Chicago Auto Show opens its public run, the benevolent event is anticipated by socialites and car buffs alike.
Additionally, two lucky gala attendees won a 2017 Acura TLX or Lexus NX. TLX compliments of Acura and Chicagoland Acura dealers, NX compliments of Lexus and Chicagoland Lexus dealers.
Guests are treated to champagne, wine, soft drinks, elegant hors d’oeuvres and desserts provided by more than 20 local restaurants — all while being the first to explore the annual edition of the nation’s largest auto show. Additionally, live entertainment was offered at various manufacturer displays across the show floor. It was a fabulous evening!
Okay so back to the CARS!!! The Chicago Auto Show exhibits include nearly 1000 domestic and imported vehicles. There are several interactive exhibits, concept vehicles, and antique and collector cars. That is right a lil something for EVERY type of car buff out there!
In addition to the concept cars and trucks, attendees were able to test drive many of the cars from certain manufacturers which are not even available on their showroom floors yet! If you plan on attending, I highly recommend that you sign up to drive! The experience was awesome!
Nissan Rogue One: Star Wars: The “Star Wars”-inspired Nissan Rogue One is a Nissan Rogue that has been transformed to look like a Rebel starfighter, complete with space for an astromech droid.
The X-wing-inspired crossover SUV comes with Rebellion logos, starfighter wings, thrusters and laser cannons/blasters. The Rogue One was built to coincide with last year’s release of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” in movie theaters. It does not include a hyperdrive or the ability to fly.
Unfortunately for would-be space pilots everywhere, the Rogue One is not for sale, not even to Jedi.
Next year, you should be there, so why not plan to attend? You’ll have an amazing time, your donation will go to a worthy charity, and the event is tax deductible.
Although you may not have attended the gala, you can still purchase tickets to attend the 2016 Auto Show at McCormick Place it is available until February 20th!
