I would be remised if I did not share my AMAZING cocktail experience from this past Wednesday at Timothy’s Hutch! When I read the invite and it said Timothy’s Hutch I thought ohhh ok, but upon entering the lobby of the historic Blackstone, there is actually a BEAUTIFUL hutch! Filled with beautiful glasses, barware and all types of bourbons, gin, vodka and anything else you could possibly think of! This pop-up cocktail party is available each day as Timothy’s Hutch is open 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. seven days a week for cocktail service and small bites.
The 107-year-old Blackstone Hotel is banking on attracting more guests to the South Loop by opening a lobby lounge that specializes in craft cocktails. Timothy’s Hutch is just part of a multi-million dollar renovation for the hotel which Marriott recently brought into its Autograph Collection imprint. The lounge, in the hotel’s lobby, serves 1960s-style cocktails and small bites. Of the variety of cocktails from Timothy’s Hutch, including Timothy’s Old Fashioned, a nod to the hotel’s namesake Timothy Blackstone, and Al’s Old Pal, a stiff salute to one of the hotel’s most notorious guests, Al Capone.
The Blackstone in downtown Chicago is a storied architectural icon rooted in the city’s legendary past, but newly updated to deliver a distinguished hospitality experience for today’s discerning traveler. Previously known as the Renaissance Blackstone, this recently revitalized destination is blooming as a point of cultural and creative discovery on the Cultural Mile.
A live jazz performance will take you through the past, present, and future of The Blackstone as part of the hotel’s newly-unveiled Blackstone Beats music series, featuring live performances from local jazz artists every Wednesday evening. Blackstone Beats takes place Wednesday with live jazz and Friday with a live DJ.
Enjoy! XO
